Exploring the Travel Map
The Map view in AdventureLog provides an interactive, visual representation of all your logged locations displayed on a world map.
Viewing Your Map
Navigate to Map from the navigation bar to see all your locations plotted as pins on an interactive map. The map uses clustering to group nearby locations together when zoomed out, making it easier to see your travel patterns at different zoom levels.
Map Features
Location Pins
Each pin on the map represents a logged location. Click on a pin to see:
- The location name
- A preview image (if available)
- Quick links to view the full location details
Cluster View
When multiple locations are close together, they group into numbered clusters. Click on a cluster to zoom in and see individual location pins. The cluster number indicates how many locations are in that area.
Adding Locations from the Map
You can add new locations directly from the map view:
- Click the Add Location button
- Drop a pin at the desired location on the map
- Fill in the location details in the form that appears
Activity Trails on the Map
If you have logged activities with GPX data (either manually or through the Strava integration), the activity routes will display as trail lines on the location map. This gives you a visual record of your hiking, biking, or other outdoor routes.
Map and World Travel
The map works alongside the World Travel feature. Countries and regions you have marked as visited in World Travel will be reflected in your overall travel statistics, while individual location pins show the specific places you have been.
